While similar in concept to a Daiquiri, the proportions of the ingredients change as well as the primary spirit.
2½ oz gin (I believe that a London Dry style is traditional)
½ oz fresh lime juice
½ oz cane syrup
Combine ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake with ice. Strain into a cocktail glass, add a lime wheel as a garnish. Enjoy! Excellent as a scurvy preventative for all you sailors out there.
If you're out of fresh lime juice, you can substitute 1 oz of Rose's Lime Juice for the fresh juice and simple syrup, but then you might be better off with different drink.
